1 Mission from the Ministry on Dutch engagement in Ethiopia

A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands has conducted a week-long visit to the Embassy to discuss ways forward for Dutch engagement in Ethiopia.

2 NFP Tailor-Made Training + Programme (TMT+) for Small-and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Ethiopia

EP-Nuffic has announced an extra call for the TMT programme specifically for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Ethiopia. It is only open for Joint Proposals submitted by an Ethiopian-registered SME together with a training provider in the Netherlands. At least 20% co-funding is a requirement.

3 DairyBISS project launches new website

The Dairy Business Information Service and Support (DairyBISS) project is a three-year project implemented by Wageningen UR and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The DairyBISS project aims to establish a dairy business platform that initiates and monitors activities in business development, capacity building, and business information development. Proofs of concept will be introduced for technical and organizational innovations such as private farm advice, innovative housing systems, and forage production. Results will improve both business practice and long-term sustainability of the sector. Recently the new website of DairyBISS Ethiopia was launched as part of this project.

5 Looking back on a successful Ethio-Netherlands Business Event 2015!

On 5 and 6 November the Ethio-Netherlands Business Event took place in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. The event entitled ‘A Growing Investment Opportunity’ was organized the Netherlands Embassy in Addis Ababa and the Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels, and aimed at informing Dutch private sector on business and investment opportunities in Ethiopia. A number of 200 participants confirms the increasing interest from Dutch private sector for Ethiopia. Specific attention was paid to seven sectors, in line with the Dutch development cooperation program, Ethiopian priorities and Dutch expertise: oilseeds, seeds, dairy, poultry, spices, textiles and logistics/construction. The Ethiopian delegation consisting of around 50 government officials and private sector representatives, was led by H.E. Ahmed Shide, State Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation of Ethiopia.

6 This week: Ethio-Netherlands Business Event, on 5 & 6 November

Looking for investment opportunities abroad? On behalf of the Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Addis Ababa, NABC is organizing the first Ethio-Netherlands business event in the Netherlands on 5 and 6 November 2015 in Rijswijk. The event is aimed at informing Dutch businesses on opportunities and attracting private sector investment from the Netherlands to Ethiopia. The focus of the event will be on seven selected sectors: oilseeds, seeds, dairy, poultry, spices, textiles and logistics/construction. The delegation leader of the Ethiopian side will be H.E. Ahmed Shide, State Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation of Ethiopia.
