DairyBISS project launches new website

The Dairy Business Information Service and Support (DairyBISS) project is a three-year project implemented by Wageningen UR and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The DairyBISS project aims to establish a dairy business platform that initiates and monitors activities in business development, capacity building, and business information development. Proofs of concept will be introduced for technical and organizational innovations such as private farm advice, innovative housing systems, and forage production. Results will improve both business practice and long-term sustainability of the sector. Recently the new website of DairyBISS Ethiopia was launched as part of this project.

A small update on the DairyBISS project:

  • A training programme is currently prepared for advisors in the dairy sector. In case you are interested in joining, keep an eye on the website as more information on how to register will be published soon.

  • At the moment the results of the baseline data collection exercises are translated into services that might be useful to you.

  • Two student groups have completed assignments on product development in the butter chain and grazing strategies. Two other students are doing research on the services of lead farms to neighboring smallholders.

  • The report of the first dairy business platform meeting is now available here.
